繁星点点的夜空，圣诞彩灯悄悄亮起，橱窗里塞满了圣诞老人和驯鹿的装饰，城市背景音乐自动变成美妙动听的圣诞歌曲。

在美国,学校的圣诞节日庆祝活动不是一天,不是一个礼拜,而是一个月!这不,感恩节刚过,美国老师的教室已经一夜之间大变样,充斥着红色和绿色,到处洋溢了浓浓的圣诞气氛。

A special Christmas family meal is an important part of the celebration for many, but what is actually served can vary greatly from country tocountry. In England, and countries influenced by its traditions, a standard Christmas meal would include turkey, potatoes, vegetables,sausages andgravy, followed by Christmas pudding or mince pies. In Poland and other parts of eastern Europe and Scandinavia, fish of tenprovides th etraditional main course, but richer meat such as lambis increasingly served. Ham is the main meal in the Philippines,while in Germany,France and Austria, goose and pork are favored.Beef, ham and chickenin various recipes are popular throughout the world.

Since the 19th century, the poinsettia, a native plant from Mexico,has been associated with Christmas. Other popular holiday plantsinclude holly, mistletoe, red amaryllis, and Christmascactus. Along with a Christmas tree, the interior of a home may be decorated with these plants, along with garlands and evergreenfoliage.In Australia, North and South America, and Europe, it is traditional to decorate the outside of houses with lights and sometimes with illuminated sleighs,snowmen, and other Christmas figures. The traditional colors of Christmas are pine green(evergreen)， snow white, and heart red.

圣诞老人原名是什么？

The most famous and pervasive of these figures in modern celebration worldwide is Santa Claus, a mythical gif bringer,dressed in red, whose origins have disputed sources. Santa Claus is a corruption of the Dutch Sinterklaas, which means simply Saint Nicholas. Nicholas was Bishop of Myra (in modern day Turkey) in the fourth century. Among other saintly attributes, he was noted forthecare of Children, generosity, and the giving of gifts.
